Full Day Chora / Balat Tour After breakfast at your hotel, our professional licensed tour guide will meet you for a full day Istanbul city tour. Our tour consists of museums, churches and architecturally unique streets of the city. Chora is a site full of mosaics and frescoes of Byzantine art. Here, we will hear about the life stories of Virgin Mary and Jesus as well as the miracles of Jesus. After our tour of Chora Museum, we continue our program with walks around the streets of Edirnekapı. Our walk will feature old houses, churches and Jewish temples. We will take in panoramic views of the city over Theodosius Walls. We will be able to view Tekfur Palace and Kastoria Temple as well as Kazasker İvaz Efendi Mosque. We will visit one of Istanbul most significant churches, Blahernai Holy Spring. We will then walk about Balat Bazaar streets, one of the oldest bazaars of the city. We will break for lunch after visiting Lonca neighborhood, Balat bakery, Ferruh Kethuda Mosque and Serbian Hrashtagabet Church. After lunch, we will continue our tour from Vodina Avenue, where we will learn about Ahrida Temple, Balat houses and Greek School (Red School) on top of the fifth hill of the city, Church of Maria Muhliotissa of Mongolians and hear the stories of Dimitri Kantemir and Eflak Palace. Afterwards, we will move to Fener and see the new cafes along Yildirim avenue and arrive at Fener Greek Patriarchy by walking past antique dealers. We will visit the patriarchy’s Aya Yorgi Church and end our tour here. After the tour, we transfer you to your hotel for the overnight stay in Istanbul.
